Apartment
description
Ideally located in the heart of Le Marais,
2 minutes from "Hotel de Ville" metro station (line
1 and 11) in a very lively part of this neighborhood with
plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and within two minutes
from Notre Dame and Pompidou museum.
An exceptionally lighted, well located, quiet and functional
apartment, recently entirely updated and equipped with all
amenities and appliances necessary for your comfortable stay.
Its tall balcony style windows overlook a picturesque scene
portrayed by many colorful flower bases and wall-climbing
vines from its neighboring buildings, blended with a wonderful
view of the skyline and red colored rooftops. The simplicity
and comfort of its decorative style will make you feel at
home at once. A very cozy living room will portray an earthly
colored sofa bed matching up the earthly colors from the main
bedroom, and in contrast with a brown leather recliner placed
in it for your entire pleasure and relaxation. An open plan
kitchen and dinning room with high chairs will complete the
scene in an atmosphere of simplicity and functionality.
The Rue du Temple, nowadays is part of an extremely commercially
active and lively area of the Marais, just few blocks east
from Beaubourg and Chatelet, and 2 minutes north of L'Hotel
de Ville and L'Ille de La Cite.
During Medieval times, it marked the west boundary of Le Marais,
and was the result of the merge among other three streets:
Rue du Bar, Rue du Bec, Rue Sainte-Avoye and Rue du Temple.
It was opened during the 13th century and it separated the
lands that belonged to "The Templiers" from those
that belonged to "beau bourg" or the monks from
Saint Martin des Champs. Therefore, the street takes its name
from a military and religious Order of "the Knights of
the Temple's Militia, also called "the Templiers",
founded in Jerusalem in 1118 after the first crusade, in order
to overcome the incredulous and the unfaithful to Christianism.
They reached such degree of success in their financial operations,
that they were able to create an institution very similar
to the concept of an international bank. However, their Order
was abolished and most of them were killed after being accused
of all kinds of abuses.
Although nowadays there is not much left from the medieval
apogee of "The Templiers", we are surrounded by
the most visited monuments, cultural places and a very resourceful
area populated by grocery stores shops, cafes, restaurants,
and cultural attractions, such as Beaubourg, Notre Dame, The
Louvre Museum, and many more small museums located north and
east of this street and very convenient to all tourist types.
